On the weekend of November 9th 2024, residents led by Lisa Oakley and Ruth Cohen-Rose came together to weed our street by hand. We’re really thrilled with the result and are now waiting for the street sweeper to give it a finishing touch. Hopefully by stopping glyphosate spraying along our street we’ll be giving pollinators such as bees and butterflies a chance to thrive.
Pictured above are the newly seeded patches of meadow in Longacres Park, which runs adjacent to Pinewood Close. Thanks to a collaboration between Lisa Oakley, Cllr Anthony Rowlands and Nick Sheriff from the Council’s Green Spaces team, residents can look forward to a colourful summer.
