Langley Crescent Buzz Stop

Our triangle of grass on the intersection of Beckett’s Ave and Langley Cresc was added to the council’s meadow mowing schedule in April 2024. Botanists from the HMWT surveyed it over the summer and found the site supported a low diversity of wildflowers and a high count of coarse grasses. It was then recommended that we keep the grass low and plant wildflowers suitable for clay soil.

We first raked and scarified until the soil was left bare, and then scattered our wildflower seeds. These were a mixture of perennials for clay soil along with some cornfield annuals to create some added colour.

Finally we planted 100 native daffodil bulbs, which first made an appearance in Spring 2025 (see below)
