Hedgehog Street – The Park

Welcome to our Hedgehog Street project!

Hedgehogs were frequent visitors to our gardens last Summer, and we’re so glad they’re back again. Watch this amazing video footage of one of our hedgehogs edging our resident vixen away from the food bowl. She’s trying her best to dodge those spikes!

Our hedgehogs need to move between our gardens so that they can access food and shelter, as well as meet up with potential mates. Please help them by creating a 13x13cm access hole in your fence or hedge so that they can do this. Then register it on the Hedgehog Street website!

Let’s see how many Hedgehog Holes we can add to our street on the Big Hedgehog Map:

We have recently put up this sign to encourage people to slow down when driving and to remind them that hedgehogs and other wildlife may be trying to cross our road.

Take a look at the Lancaster and Gurney Court Roads project page for dog proof hedgehog hole ideas.
