We are so lucky that our stretch of Clarence rd overlooks the beautiful Verulamium Park. In linking our gardens to create a wildlife corridor, we are hopeful that the wildlife both in our gardens and in the park will benefit from any added foraging and habitat that we can provide. Residents will be meeting in September to discuss the launch of a number of projects, including Hedgehog Street. This project is key, as It is hoped that the installation of hedgehog signs may encourage motorists to slow down and allow animals to cross the road safely.
Other projects we’re keen to run include Community Recycling, which will involve creating collection points for difficult-to-recycle items, and Pollinator Highway. Pollinator Highway is Wilderhood Watches largest project which is just as well as planting for pollinators is great for all wildlife! It’s also the most social of our projects as plant swaps are a lovely way of connecting with neighbours.
